I know I've heard/red before that people have a dominant eye just like we have a dominant hand. But I never thought about or had any idea of the implications until I had (still have, argh) an eye infection in my left eye. Turns out that's my dominant eye. I've been trying to use my right eye to look through the viewfinder and it is hilarious how awkward it feels! It is just as odd as trying to write or throw left-handed (I'm right-handed).

So - are you right-eyed or left-eyed? Is it common to have the dominant eye be the opposite as your dominant hand or am I the odd one? (Ok, don't answer that. I already know.)

This is something I've never thought about. I had to pick up my camera to see which eye I automatically use. I'm right handed and right eyed. Which is good because the viewfinder on my camera is on the left side of it. If I had to use my left eye, my nose would get in the way of my camera. My camera is definitely designed for a right handed person.

Crap, I don't know which eye I use! I'm left handed and I think I use my left eye but I'll have to go get my camera to double check.

I do sometimes, but I tend to lean towards right eye dominant and I'm right handed.  I wish I was left eye dominant though because that's my better eye.

I am right-handed and shoot with my right eye, left eye most of the time shut. I went to Rocky Mtn National Park today to get lots of shots of Satori, and I specifically remember leaving my left eye open instead of shutting it so she would look me in the eye when I shot her.

Interesting! I had to pick up the camera too. I'm right handed, left eyed and I shoot with both eyes open.

 I'm left-handed, right-eyed I think. But I'm pretty amidextrious too. I do a lot of things right-handed.

Hmm...this is something that if I had thought about I wouldn't have needed to pick up the camera to figure out.  I can only wink my right eye.  So, I'm right handed, left eye dominant.

Ok, I'm left handed and left eyed, apparently, though I do shoot with both eyes open sometimes.

I'm right handed and right eyed. I know this without even picking up my camera because I'm legally blind in my left eye. Almost no one knows this about me though since I've alwys been lucky to not have a wandering eye problem. My left mimics/follows my right. ;)

Right handed, right eye dominant. I have on occasion opened both eyes to get a better look, but then close one eye to shoot.
