Gabriella is the flowergirl in a wedding tomorrow. The "photographers" are a Mother/Daughter pair who are related to a friend of the couple and they are "giving the bride and groom a great deal". They were at the rehearsal with us tonight and they were taking test shots and I noticed they were both using the pop up flash with every shot. I'm pretty sure they almost blinded the couple during the rehearsal alone. It hurt my eyes in the third row! A little later I gave the Mother a friendly smile and asked what she was shooting with and she gave me a blank look. I tried again, "What kind of camera are you shooting the wedding with?" She did not know. Her daughter finally supplied for her that it is a Nikon D80.

Cross your fingers that our friends get at least a few really nice photos of their wedding!

The wedding went very well, but I'm not super hopeful for the "professional" pictures, I'm pretty sure that D80 was set on full auto. Apparently they already loaded them all on CD (no edits at all) and handed them over to the groom's mom. When the groom was telling me about the photographers before the big day he said they had "lots of experience".

I wore my camera all day, but my main job was to chase the flowergirl and try to keep her clean and in a good mood day! I'll have to post some of my pictures from the wedding later.

You got some great pictures for them, based on your slideshow. Your description reminds me of when I took my son to Sears for his 1 year old shots and I asked about the camera and equipment and the photographer couldn't answer any questions.

I have to LOL about the sears - But come to think of it, when I worked for the Cookstore, I could never have told you the name brand of the cash register we used. LOL (kwim?) SO I guess it makes sense.

but as for a "professional" photographer not knowing the camera brand or what they are doing...YIKES. My friend who's been in the industry for 15+years heard two ditzy girls buying a camera one day when she was in the camera store. She heard them telling the salesman that they were shooting a wedding the next day. How's that for practice?!  But they were supposedly paid over 1000 dollars to do it. It blows my mind.
